In development — exploring strategic partnerships

Less administration. More time for patient care.

Altryx is developing AI-assisted clinical documentation and administration tools that help healthcare teams prepare clearer records, motivations and submissions — with clinicians always reviewing and approving the final output.

For healthcare practices

Draft the paperwork, keep the clinical judgement.

Tools in development to reduce the time clinicians and practice staff spend on repetitive documentation — in any specialty, and in multidisciplinary practices.

Medical aid motivations

Structured drafts of clinical motivations that a clinician reviews, edits and signs off.

Clinical record summaries

Concise summaries of relevant history to support referrals, handovers and reviews.

Procedure packs

Help assembling the documents a procedure typically requires, so less is missed.

For EHR & practice software vendors

Designed to complement, not replace.

Altryx is intended to work alongside existing practice management and EHR systems, not compete with them.

Complementary layer

Focused on documentation and administration workflows your users already perform.

Integration by agreement

Any integration is subject to a formal agreement with the vendor. No integrations are currently live.

Partnership-led

We're open to exploring pilots and co-development with vendors.

For medical schemes

Better submissions, fewer avoidable follow-ups.

These are pilot hypotheses we want to test with partners — not proven results.

More complete authorisations

Hypothesis: structured drafting helps practices submit the information schemes need first time.

Fewer avoidable queries

Hypothesis: clearer motivations reduce back-and-forth for both sides.

Measured in a pilot

We'd like to define success measures together before any claims are made.

Privacy by design

Built with POPIA in mind from day one.

Our aim is to design for the Protection of Personal Information Act from the start. We do not claim certification or verified compliance at this stage.

  • ✓Data minimisation as a design principle
  • ✓Clinician review before anything leaves the practice
  • ✓No real patient data used in demonstrations
  • ✓Independent assessment planned before any live use

Founder

Founded at the intersection of clinical care and practice administration.

Founded by a South African Registered Professional Nurse with 16 years of experience across specialist clinical care, operating theatre and procedural nursing, pre- and post-operative patient care and education, and medical-practice administration.

Few people have sat on both sides of that desk. Sixteen years in specialist practice and in medical-practice administration means knowing what a procedure needs before it happens, what a medical aid needs before it authorises, and what a practice team is left rewriting in between.

The experience is concrete: pre- and post-operative workflows, supporting procedures in theatre and outpatient settings, and patient education that helps people understand what happens next. Alongside it, years spent drafting medical-aid motivation letters, assembling authorisation documentation, preparing clinical reports, and working through billing and collections.

It is also a firsthand view of where work repeats itself — the same clinical history typed into a third document, records split across a paper file, a practice management system and a scheme portal, and delays nobody planned: a missing item in a procedure pack, a motivation that answered the wrong question, a query that could have been closed before it was sent.

Altryx is being built from that vantage point: a nurse's judgement about what belongs in a record, and an administrator's knowledge of what actually unblocks an authorisation. That grounding is in specialist clinical and theatre-based care, and the tools are being designed for practices in any specialty and for multidisciplinary teams doing the same documentation work. What partners get is a view of the problem formed by doing the work, and the discipline to keep a clinician in charge of every document that leaves a practice.

Where the experience comes from

Specialist clinical care
16 years as a Registered Professional Nurse in South African specialist practice.
Operating theatre & procedures
Pre- and post-operative workflows across theatre lists and procedural care.
Patient education
Explaining conditions, procedures and recovery so patients know what to do next.
Motivations & authorisations
Drafting medical-aid motivation letters and assembling supporting documents.
Clinical documentation
Recording, summarising and handing over clinical information clearly.
Billing & collections
Coding, claims, follow-ups and resolving queries with schemes and patients.

Altryx shares this background rather than a name or photograph. In a partnership conversation, the question that matters is whether the person building the tool has done the work it is meant to ease.
